Please join us for the 1st KidneyBee Summit hosted by Cincinnati Children’s Heart Institute and Center for Acute Care Nephrology. Conference programming will provide an interactive educational platform for advanced practice providers, nurses, and physicians who care for children on CRRT. Specialties will represent nephrology, critical care medicine, cardiology, and neonatology.

*Please note - only nursing credit is offered, but physicians are welcome to attend*

Key Topics Include :

  • Describe AKI pathophysiology, risk factors, high-risk populations (including neonates), and the role of biomarkers, with a focus on AKI related to cardiac surgery and sepsis.

  • Discuss recent advancements in CRRT and blood purification technologies including new modalities, devices, and filters, and how they can be tailored to meet individual patient needs.

  • Describe catheter options, placement techniques, and effective anticoagulation strategies to optimize safety and efficacy in CRRT.

  • Develop individualized CRRT prescriptions tailored to diverse patient conditions and integrate CRRT with other therapies, such as Therapeutic Plasma Exchange, for comprehensive critical care.

  • Explain nursing challenges in CRRT management, focusing on bedside care strategies, nutritional support, pharmacokinetics, and fluid management to enhance patient outcomes.

  • Analyze best practices in CRRT team training, onboarding, and quality improvement, emphasizing simulation-based training and post-discharge follow-up for long-term kidney health.
